Crew Homegrown Players Matt Lampson and Wil Trapp spent Wednesday afternoon shooting a promo video for ReVision Advanced Laser Eye Care Center that will run during the Black & Gold's matches this season. The duo recently underwent LASIK correction in December as part of the Crew's new partnership with ReVision, making it the exclusive LASIK provider of the Columbus Crew. The two shared testimonials of the benefits LASIK correction has provided in the players' lives on and off the soccer field ahead of the official start of the Black & Gold's preseason on January 24.
Look for the commercial to air throughout 2014.
adidas revealed brazuca, its match ball for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, on Tuesday. "Brazuca" is a local in the country meaning "Brazilian."
From the official adidas press release, "Brazuca is a breakthrough innovation featuring a revolutionary six-panel design. Created for every player on the field, the ball features six identical panels alongside a unique surface that will provide improved grip, touch, stability and aerodynamics on the field. Brazuca has been thoroughly tested to meet and exceed all FIFA metrics for an official match ball, ensuring top performance for every condition."
The Crew and Crew Stadium have been nominated for three of Columbus Underground's Best of 2013 awards in the magazine's annual survey of all things Columbus. After another successful year of Rock on the Range and a sold-out Kenny Chesney concert, Crew Stadium is up for Best Local Music Venue while the 2014 World Cup Qualifier between the USA and Mexico at Crew Stadium is nominated for Best Event or Festival. Additionally, the Black & Gold are up for Best Sports Team.

MLSsoccer.com is running its third annual MLS Pumpkin Carving Contest from Thursday, October 24 - Wednesday, October 30. One person's pumpkin carving will be selected based on style, creativity, originality, and its connection to MLS ie: club logos, players etc. The winner will receive one MLS jersey of his/her choice* from MLSGear.com, and the photo of their pumpkin will be featured on MLSsoccer.com on Halloween.
