Columbus Crew Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter said today that he has decided to allow Kevan George to join the Trinidad & Tobago National Team for its two impending friendlies.

Berhalter, who initially decided to keep George with the Crew, confirmed that Michael Parkhurst's return led the club to change its mind.

The Soca Warriors are slated to face two sides that are headed to the FIFA World Cup early next month. George and his teammates will face Argentina in Buenos Aires on June 4 before playing Iran in Sao Paolo on June 8.

Berhalter also confirmed that the timing of the matches means that George will not rejoin the Crew until after the FIFA World Cup concludes.

When Ethan Finlay scored into the north goal at Columbus Crew Stadium tonight, it was the first time he hit the back of the net at home. Given the chance to finally celebrate in front of the home supporters, he did what so many have done before him: run to the Nordecke.

Standing in front of the most voracious supporters, Finlay did the one thing that felt right to him in that moment: he held up one finger on his left hand, and five on his right, forming a 15 in honor of Kirk Urso.

"It was very special," said Finlay. "I dedicate [the goal] to an old teammate, Kirk Urso. He never got to score a goal in the League. That was for him."
Finlay admitted that the nature of his first career MLS goal last weekend in Portland didn't give him a moment to think about celebrating, so he was happy to be able to honor his teammate in front of the home fans.
"They brought it all night tonight. We can’t thank them enough. They’ve been through this with us, some tough results in the last four or five, so for us to come home and get a victory for them, it’s important and it will be good going forward."
