Trapp unable to attend this week’s U.S. Under-21 camp
U.S. Soccer announced on Monday morning that Crew midfielder Wil Trapp is among a pair of U.S. Under-21 players that are now unable to attend the upcoming camp this week in California following minor injuries from the previous weekend. Trapp picked-up a small knock in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against D.C. United. The 21-year-old did play the full 90 minutes in the performance and the Crew’s Vice Captain recorded the game-tying assist as the Black & Gold earned a point thanks to Hector Jimenez’s 90th-minute equalizer.
Real Salt Lake midfielder Luis Gil was the other camp invitee unable to attend following last weekend’s Major League Soccer action.
Trapp earned 15 caps as a member of the U.S. U-20 National Team, helping the team qualify for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup where he earned three caps in group play.
We’ll have more from Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter later today.
The Black & Gold host the New York Red Bulls this weekend at Crew Stadium on Saturday, April 26 (7:30 p.m. ET / Time Warner Cable SportsChannel).
