On the heels of clinching its fourth consecutive postseason berth, playoff tickets will go on sale to the general public this Monday, Oct. 17. Both potential individual games, as well as two-game packages that include a limited edition “Dare to Be Massive” scarf (quantities are limited) will be available.
Prices start at $20 for individual games and $38 for two-game packages, all of which will be available to the general public Monday at Noon at the Crew Stadium Box Office, all central Ohio Ticketmaster retail locations, via Ticketmaster phone at 800-745-3000 and on-line at TheCrew.com and Ticketmaster.com.
Crew Soccer Nation Black and Gold members have received an exclusive presale offer to secure their season seats. Playoff pairings, dates and times have not been determined yet. The Crew (13-12-8, 44 pts.), currently sits in third place in the Eastern Conference, just one point behind conference-leading Sporting KC and Philadelphia. The Crew victory on Saturday at New England clinched the Black & Gold’s fourth straight spot in the postseason.
The top three teams in each conference will receive a bye into the conference semifinals, while the teams with the next four best records regardless of conference will earn Wild Card berths. The Wild Card matches will be single-elimination affairs, the winners of which will assume the No. 4 seeds in each conference. The conference semifinals are two-game, total-goals series, with the first game being played at the lower seed’s home field and Game 2 at the higher seed’s home.
The Conference Championship matches are single-elimination games at the home of the highest surviving seed in each conference. MLS Cup 2011 is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
