Crew retains Match Analysis for video and technical analysis tools

Crew Coaching Staff

The Columbus Crew today announced that after a one-year hiatus it has renewed its relationship with California-based Match Analysis to provide video and technical analysis tools and data for the 2012 MLS season and beyond.

The new multi-year agreement will provide the Crew’s technical staff with complete touch-by-touch video and statistical analysis of every MLS match using Match Analysis’s Mambo Studio software. In addition, coaches and players will have online access to detailed individual analytics, upcoming opponent analysis, and complete touch-by-touch player video through Match Analysis’s Tango Online. Coaches also have the ability to send video directly to players using the company’s proprietary Tango ToGo system.

“Match Analysis delivers a consistently fantastic service and the best technology on the market,” said Crew technical director Brian Bliss. “We did some comparison shopping last year with a European system, but we can now say with confidence that Match Analysis provides the most advanced tools and the best service on the market.  It’s a great asset for our coaches and players, and we’re happy to be back.

“We want our staff to have the best information, real insight, and the most powerful and complete tools for communicating with our players. Match Analysis delivers that in spades. The Crew has enjoyed a lot of success working with Match Analysis, and we’re looking forward to continuing that tradition.”

The Crew first signed on with Match Analysis in 2002. While a client of Match Analysis, the Crew won the 2002 U.S. Open Cup, the 2008 MLS Cup, and the 2008 and 2009 MLS Supporter’s Shield. Match Analysis clients have won eight of the last 10 MLS Cups, nine of the last 10 US Open Cups, and nine of the last 10 MLS Supporter’s Shields.
