COLUMBUS — The Columbus Crew announced today that it has signed significant new corporate partnerships with a pair of locally based companies, a one-year deal with ScottsMiracle-Gro and a multi-year deal with CoughlinCars.com. Per club policy, no further terms of the deals were disclosed.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Scotts and Coughlin aboard,” said Crew Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Chris Previte. “Both are highly respected companies with tremendous brand identities in our area. We are proud to add them to our expanding roster of corporate partners and look forward to long and mutually beneficial relationships with both.”

Marysville-based Scotts acquired naming rights to the Crew’s field-level row of premium seating, which will now be known as the Scotts Field Seats (logo attached), in addition to LED field-level signage and other assets. It will also be the presenting sponsor of the Crew Soccer Foundation’s soccer field refurbishment project at Innis Park, in partnership with the Columbus Department of Recreation & Parks.

“Scotts is proud to be partnering with the Crew and supporting the local community field refurbishment project,” said Jim Lyski, Chief Marketing Officer, ScottsMiracle-Gro. “Scotts believes that it is important to offer youth a safe, reliable field and playing area. In addition to helping reduce injuries, a strong foundation of thick and lush grass helps to create a beautiful outdoor environment that encourages children to spend time outdoors.”

CoughlinCars.com, whose dealerships offer 14 new car brands at 10 locations around Central Ohio, becomes the “Official Car Dealership of the Columbus Crew.” In the club’s largest-ever deal in the automotive category, Coughlin will receive LED field-level signage, TV, radio, print and on-line advertising, along with a season-long in-game promotion in which the winner will receive a two-year lease of a new car that they can select from any CoughlinCars.com brand.

“CoughlinCars.com is very proud to serve the central Ohio area, and our sponsorship with the Columbus Crew is a natural extension of those efforts,” said Mike Coughlin.

“With the growth of youth soccer in the communities we serve, we feel there are great synergies between the Columbus Crew and CoughlinCars.com, and we are excited to begin a long-term partnership,” added Al Coughlin.

The Crew simultaneously announced that it has secured renewals with existing partners American Airlines, Crawford Hoying, Donatos Pizza, Environmental Pest Management, Kroger, La Michoacana, Lifeline of Ohio, the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Pinnacle Golf Club, Sheraton at Capitol Square, Strongbow Cider, Subway, SuperKick and Thrifty Airport Parking and Value City Furniture.
