It was a busy week for the Black & Gold, starting monday with the Connor Senn Memorial Match against Ohio State. The match was called after 31 minutes due to storms in the Columbus area.

The match was held to raise awareness for sudden cardiac arrest in athletes. Senn, a childhood friend of Danny O'Rourke, passed away after collapsing during a match in 2001. All proceeds from the contest went to a scholarship fund in the late Buckeye's name.

Clint Dempsey and the US Men's National Team will host Jamaica in a 2014 World Cup qualifier on September 11 at Crew Stadium. The Stars and Stripes are currently undefeated in Columbus.

Back to the Crew, with injuries to both Aaron Schoenfeld and Olman Vargas, there will be a new face to pair up top with Emilio Renteria on Saturday in Portland. The Columbus Dispatch's Adam Jardy speculates it could be either Justin Meram or rookie Ethan Finlay.

Speaking of injuries, MLSsoccer.com's Craig Merz caught up with Crew forward Tommy Heinemann as he recovers from season-ending knee surgery.

In the abscence of William Hesmer, Crew 'keeper Andy Gruenebaum has emerged as a leader in the Black & Gold locker room.

Finally, Jonah Freedman of MLSsoccer.com took a look at what it takes to rebuild a dynasty in MLS.
