Moment of the Match: Gaven scores early

The Crew had a dream start to Saturday night's match against D.C. United. Eddie Gaven put the Black & Gold ahead 1-0 when he pounded a volley past United 'keeper Bill Hamid in the seventh minute. The tally was Gaven's ninth of the season, a new career-high for the 10-year MLS veteran. Here is what Gaven had to say about the play after the match:

"It was nice getting the goal early, for sure. I thought it was going to be our night when that happened to be honest with you. We played very well in the first half. We go into half time with the lead, but a few things broke down there in the second half, and we lost."
