Gaven scratched from tonight's lineup

Eddie Gaven

Crew midfielder Eddie Gaven has been scratched from tonight's lineup in Vancouver (7:30 p.m. ET / FOX Sports Ohio). After taking a knock in training late this week, Crew Head Coach Robert Warzycha has decided to hold the MLS veteran out of tonight's action.

Said Warzycha, "Eddie twisted his ankle in training, and because this game is being played on turf time away will help his healing. We decided to hold him back to get him ready for the next game."

Gaven has been sent back to Columbus to recuperate, while forward Justin Meram is now with the club in Vancouver to round-out tonight's 18-man lineup. Stay with TheCrew.com for additional personnel updates as they become available.
