COLUMBUS – Playing in the national tournament named after the club’s founder, the Columbus Crew enters the 100th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup during third-round action as the Black & Gold are set to host the Dayton Dutch Lions (USL Pro) on Wednesday, May 29 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Tickets to the match are set to go on sale via TheCrew.com and by calling 614-447-CREW (2739) at 10:00 a.m. ET today.
Next Wednesday’s match is a general admission event. Crew Soccer Nation Fan Club (Black and Gold levels) members can purchase tickets for $10 in advance. Tickets for the general public are $12 in advance and all day-of-match tickets are $15. Children 12 and under will be admitted for free with a complementary ticket, and parking for the match is $5. While tickets are available today at 10:00 a.m. on the club’s website and by calling the front office, tickets via Ticketmaster will be available beginning Thursday, May 23 at 10:00 a.m. ET.

The Black & Gold enter in the third-round of the tournament along with the other 15 MLS teams based in the United States. The 100th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup features 68 teams – an increase from the 64 that competed last year, marking the largest field in the modern era (1995-present).
The Crew was crowned 2002 U.S. Open Cup champion as the Black & Gold defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy 1-0 to win the club’s first-ever tournament title in front of its home fans at Crew Stadium on October 24, 2002. The Black & Gold also reached the Open Cup Final in the club’s first appearance in the tournament in 1998 and most recently in 2010.
