USOC: Crew vs. Fire postponed to Thursday, June 13 due to inclement weather

CHICAGO — Due to severe weather conditions across the Chicago metropolitan area on Wednesday evening, the Fourth Round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match between the Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire has been postponed. The contest – originally scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Toyota Park – is now set for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff on Thursday, June 13 at the same venue. The match is scheduled to be streamed live via TheCrew.com.

Following this Open Cup clash, the Black & Gold (4-5-5, 17 points) return to Columbus on Thursday evening ahead of a pivotal MLS Eastern Conference matchup against the Montreal Impact (8-2-2, 26 points) on Saturday, June 15 (7:30 p.m. ET / Univision Deportes Netowrk, FOX Sports Ohio). The Impact is currently atop the Eastern Conference table, and the two clubs last met on April 14, when both Marco Di Vaio and Dominic Oduro traded goals in a 1-1 draw at Stade Saputo.
