- For the past two years as Technical Director of the Crew, Brian Bliss has worked to get members of the junior varsity and varsity soccer teams of Victor to Crew Stadium – a city just over 18-miles from Bliss’ hometown of Webster, New York. While Bliss has had to assume more responsibility in his new role as Interim Head Coach in recent months, he again set aside time to make sure the 90 high school students from Victor got a chance to practice in Crew Stadium and see the Black & Gold take on the Chicago Fire on September 21. - Since veteran midfielder Eddie Gaven went down with a season-ending ACL tear in his left knee May 29th, the Black & Gold have had to utilize many different combinations of players on their roster to help fill the void. In particular, the stellar wing-play of Dominic Oduro and Bernardo Anor has certainly paid dividends for the Crew’s offensive game plan – especially in recent weeks. - Since Brian Bliss took over the coaching reins on an interim basis on September 2, he has put together an impressive 4-1-0 record, including three consecutive wins. A 3-0 loss on the road in Sporting Park to Kansas City has been the only bump in the road for what has been an otherwise impressive turnaround for the Black & Gold. Adam Jardy of The Columbus Dispatch talked with Bliss on Wednesday about what needs to happen for the Crew to pull out a win as the series shifts to Columbus for the regular-season series finale.
- Yesterday, Crew winger Ethan Finlay joined Joe Jewett on the CD102.5 Morning Show. The two talked about the major playoff implications involved in Saturday’s match against Sporting Kansas City.
