Black & Gold Bullets: October 15

MLS Cup

On Monday, FOX Sports Media Group and the Deutsche Fussball Liga (DFL) announced a multiple-year agreement which gives FOX the rights to broadcast Bundesliga football beginning in the 2015-16 season. The deal brings the 306 annual Bundesliga matches to hundreds of millions homes across the globe - including North and South America, Asia, and Europe. The Associated Press has more on the official announcement in addition to how the Bundesliga has ‘become a top international sports media property.’

With just two games left in the regular-season, the Black & Gold currently rank third in MLS in shots as they have amassed 452 in that category, with them some bringing incredible goals. From Ben Speas’ tribute to Kirk Urso in his first career MLS tally, to a pair of Pipa chips, the Crew has connected on some impressive strikes this season. Join TheCrew.com and reflect on the Top 10 Black & Gold strikes of the 2013 campaign and cast your vote for this season’s goal of the year.

Outside of Sporting Kansas City and the New York Red Bulls, who have already staked their claim to playoff berths, eight spots in both conferences are up for grabs heading into Week 34 of MLS play. With 12 teams vying for only eight slots in the MLS Cup Playoffs fold, any margin of error would prove to be costly to a contending team’s postseason aspirations. MLSsoccer.com breaks down the latest playoff scenarios and, and as their analysis points out, the shape of the postseason picture as we know it may look entirely different by week’s end.
