Black & Gold Bullets: October 18

Federico Higuain

Saturday's match at New England is crucial for the Crew, but with where the Black & Gold currently sit in the Eastern Conference standings, they must rely on other results to go their way as well. Andrew King of Fox Sports Ohiotalked with the players about what the current playoff situation is like for them.

In the Crew's last match, a 1-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City on October 5 at Crew Stadium, Captain and Designated Player Federico Higuain battled through a hip injury that he suffered in the first half. Pipa has slowly worked his way back into practice, but Adam Jardy from the Columbus Dispatchreports that he is not a sure thing to be in the starting lineup on Saturday in New England.

Tomorrow's match against the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium is the Crew's final road contest of the season. On Thursday, the Black & Gold prepared for Foxborough's artificial surface by practicing at Ohio Dominican University. TheCrew.com's Ashleigh Ignelzi and Cody Sharrett caught up with the team at ODU in this week's Black & Gold Breakdown.
