Kevan George

COLUMBUS – The Columbus Crew announced today that midfielder/defender Kevan George has been called-up for international duty with Trinidad and Tobago ahead of a pair of international friendlies against Jamaica on Friday, November 15 in Montego Bay before a home match for The Socca Warriors on Tuesday, November 19 at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

The call-up from Head Coach Stephen Hart is George’s fourth on the senior roster in 2013 and comes on the heels of a substitute appearance in an international friendly against New Zealand on October 15. Earlier this year, George earned his first call-up during the OSN Cup, an international tournament held in Saudi Arabia from September 5-9. During the tournament, George made two substitute appearances to earn his first two caps on the senior roster, appearing as a substitute in the match against the United Arab Emirates on September 5 and against Saudi Arabia on September 9. George previously made three starts in the 2012 Olympic Qualifying run with Trinidad and Tobago’s Under-23 squad.

During the 2013 Major League Soccer regular season, George made a career-high 11 appearances – including three starts. The Black & Gold drafted George in the second round (29th overall) in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, and in his rookie season he made seven appearances, including four starts.
