McBride appears on Hall of Fame ballot for first time

U.S. Soccer announced its candidates for the 2014 class to be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame on Wednesday. Appearing on the ballot for the first time following his retirement in 2010 is Crew legend and veteran of three FIFA World Cups for the U.S. National Team, Brian McBride. Other candidates that spent time in Black & Gold on the Hall of Fame ballot include 2004 MLS Defender of the Year Robin Fraser and 2008 MLS Cup-winning manager Sigi Schmid, who appears on the Builder Ballot.


Voting begins immediately and the 2014 National Soccer Hall of Fame class will be announced in mid-February.
