Last Thursday at the Columbus American Marketing Association's Annual AIM (Achievement In Marketing) Awards, the Crew won honors for Best TV for the "I'm a Fortress" spot and Best Indoor Advertising for the Crew Signage at Resolute Indoor Soccer Complex in Columbus.

“It’s always an honor to be recognized for the work we do because so much thought, effort and collaboration goes into putting out a product that represents our brand well and makes a connection with our fans” said Crew Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Mike Malo. “We are particularly proud of the TV campaign we developed with SpaceJunk Media, and it’s rewarding that others in the industry felt it was deserving of an award.”

Several Crew Front Office members received recognition for individual ticket sales efforts throughout the 2013 season. Avin Assomull reached the Silver threshold for group ticket sales, while Phil Goldfarb reached the Silver mark for season ticket sales. Nick White earned honors at the Bronze threshold for group ticket sales while JP Lococo and Andrew Flynn made the League All Rookie team for season ticket sales.

“I’m so proud of the work of our sales team,” said Malo. “They have built momentum over the past two seasons, and it’s fantastic to see some of our dedicated ticket sales staff reach an elite level in MLS.  Our Vice President of Ticket Sales Clark Beacom and the other leaders in the department have developed our ticket sales area into one of the strongest in the League, which has put us into a position to accomplish Goal 10K and reach new heights as a club.”

The Black & Gold are also being honored with an Experience Columbus EXPY. Last September’s 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier between the United States and Mexico helped reiterate that Columbus and Crew Stadium remain the spiritual home for critical National Team success. Experience Columbus is presenting awards at the 12th Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 4 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The Crew last took home an EXPY in early 2009 following the excitement that the 2008 MLS Cup victory brought to Central Ohio.

Early Bird pricing (through January 31) for attending the Experience Columbus Annual Meeting is $85 for Experience Columbus members. The special pricing window requires a promo code for EC members that can only be obtained by emailing azoellner@experiencecolumbus.com. Staring February 1, prices move to $95 a ticket for members and $100 for non-members. A ten-seat table is listed at $1,100.

The Crew begins the 2014 season at D.C. United on Saturday, March 8. The team is currently on the first of two separate training trips to Florida with a week of training back in Columbus in between.
