Matt Lampson joined forces with D.C. United midfielder Chris Pontius on Saturday night to give two D.C. area families a night to remember.
Jack Keffer (4 years old) and Giovanni Deavers (8 years old), who are currently undergoing leukemia treatment were able to watch the match at RFK Stadium and then take their families down on the field for the final minutes of the match before meeting with both Pontius and Lampson post-match.
Looking to continue the Hero program that Lampson started during the 2013 season, the goalkeeper will be working with LLS to invite a child and their family to every home and away match during the 2014 season.
