The Crew's draw against the Red Bulls was enough to lift the Black & Gold into sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference. Gregg Berhalter's side faces a tough task in keeping that spot on Sunday when it travels to second-place Sporting Kansas City (4:00 p.m. ET / NBCSN).


2. Sporting Kansas City -- 11 pts. | 2-0 Loss at New England Revolution, Week Nine vs. Columbus Crew


Sporting hit a speed bump in New England, going down to 10 men after Aurelien Collin's red card and falling 2-0. Kansas City returns home to host the Crew in Week Nine.


3. D.C. United -- 11 pts. | 4-1 Win vs. FC Dallas, Week Nine:  at Portland Timbers


A resurgent D.C. United made a statement in the Nation's Capital on Saturday, taking down a strong FC Dallas side 4-1. D.C. looks to extend its five-match unbeaten streak as it travels to Portland this week. 


4. New England Revolution -- 11 pts. | 2-0 Win vs. Sporting Kansas City, Week Nine: at Toronto FC


The early season struggles are over for Jay Heaps' side as Teal Bunbury and Lee Nguyen each scored in stoppage time to lift the Revs to victory at Gillette Stadium over Sporting Kansas City. New England heads to Toronto FC in Week Nine.


5. New York Red Bulls -- 11 pts. | 4-0 Win vs. Houston Dynamo / 1-1 Draw at Columbus Crew, Week Nine: at FC Dallas


Bradley Wright-Phillips scored four goals during the week to catapult the Red Bulls into the top half of the table with a win over Houston and draw at Columbus. New York visits FC Dallas this week, looking to continue its unbeaten run. 


6.  Toronto FC -- 9 pts. | Bye, Week Nine: vs. New England Revolution


Toronto FC had a bye week to rest up as Jermain Defoe seems likely for return this week in the Reds' home match against New England. 


7. Houston Dynamo -- 8 pts. | 4-0 Loss at New York Red Bulls / 1-1 Draw vs. Portland Timbers, Week Nine: at Chivas USA


The Dynamo rebounded from a midweek defeat at New York with a home draw with the Portland Timbers on Sunday. Houston travels to Los Angeles for a clash with Chivas USA in Week Nine.


8. Philadelphia Union -- 8 pts. | 1-0 Loss at Montreal Impact, Week Nine: at Seattle Sounders FC


The Union fell victim to the Impact's first win of the season in Philadelphia's visit to Montreal. The tough stretch continues as John Hackworth's men travel to Seattle this week. 


9. Montreal Impact -- 6 pts. | 1-0 Win vs. Philadelphia Union, Week Nine: Bye


Felipe Martins scored to lift his side to its first victory of the season in front of a home crowd at the Stade Saputo. Montreal has a bye week to rest in Week Nine.


10. Chicago Fire -- 6 pts. | Bye, Week Nine: vs. Real Salt Lake


The Fire had the week off as it prepares for its tilt with Real Salt Lake this week.
