Dutch Lions drop two matches on West Coast swing

The Dayton Dutch Lions played a rare two matches on back-to-back days last weekend, both on the road in California, but couldn't come away with a victory in either.

The Crew's USL-PRO affiliate first fell by a 4-3 final at Orange County Blues. Black & Gold loanee Matt Walker tallied in the 12th minute to open the scoring, but four unanswered goals by Orange County aided the home side to the victory.

On the very next day, Dayton played LA Galaxy II as part of a doubleheader at StubHub Center, following the LA Galaxy-Chivas USA match. Aaron Schoenfeld pulled a late goal back for the Dutch Lions, but LA Galaxy II won by a 5-1 final.

Matt Wiet played 90 minutes in both matches; Walker, Schoenfeld and Ross Friedman started against Orange County, wheras Walker and Schoenfeld were each subbed on against LA Galaxy II.
