Preseason Match Recap: Columbus Crew SC 1 - FC Dallas 3 (ATX Pro Challenge)

At the University of Texas at Austin's Mike A. Myers Stadium, Columbus Crew SC fell to FC Dallas by a 3-1 final on Friday night. The match was the opening contest of the inaugural ATX Pro Challenge.


In the second half, newcomer Kristinn Steindorson gave Crew SC its first goal of the preseason after tapping in a cross from Ethan Finlay. Ben Speas provided a through ball to Finlay along the right flank before the co-2014 club Budweiser Golden Boot winner found the Icelander in the heart of the box for the Black & Gold tally.


Earlier in the contest, Blas Perez opened the scoring the FC Dallas, with Ryan Hollingshead adding a pair of tallies.


Crew SC next plays the loser of the second match of the evening, which pits the Black & Gold's new USL affiliate, the Austin Aztex, against D.C. United.

Newcomers Kei Kamara, Chris Klute, Hernan Grana, Mohammed Saeid and Kristinn Steindorsson all made their first preseason appearances for Crew SC, with unsigned draft pick Kalen Ryden doing the same for the Black & Gold.
