CREW SC LOOKING TO CONTINUE HISTORIC SUCCESS AGAINST MONTREAL


Columbus Crew SC plays its 13th 2015 Major League Soccer regular-season match and its seventh at MAPFRE Stadium by hosting the Montreal Impact on Saturday, June 6. This is the first of two matches between Columbus and Montreal this year. Historically, the Black & Gold have been successful against the Impact with a 6-2-1 record all-time, including a perfect 5-0-0 mark at MAPFRE Stadium. Last season, Columbus went 2-1-0 against Montreal, with the home team emerging victorious in all three contests.
LAST REGULAR SEASON MEETING
On September 27, 2014, Crew SC midfielders Ethan Finlay and Federico Higuain scored, while Steve Clark stopped a Marco Di Vaio penalty attempt en route to a 2-0 victory for the Black & Gold. The win was part of a stretch that saw the Black & Gold win seven straight regular-season home matches, including six in a row to close-out the 2014 campaign.

THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Crew SC enters the weekend with a plus-eight goal differential at home. That number is tied with D.C. United for the best mark at home in the League. In six home matches, the Black & Gold have recorded five multi-goal performances.
HISTORIC SUCCESS AGAINST MONTREAL
Crew SC enters this match with a 6-2-1 record against the Impact all-time (19 out of a possible 27 points, 70.4%). That figure represents Columbus’ highest points-earned percentage against any current MLS opponent (min. two matches played).
SAEID’S SURGICAL PASSING
Crew SC midfielder Mohammed Saeid led the club in passing against Philadelphia with a 93.4% accuracy rate (57 passes out of 61 completed). The Swede is now second in MLS in passing accuracy among all players with 200 or more passes attempted.
KAMARA MAINTAINS LEAGUE LEAD IN GOALS 
Crew SC forward Kei Kamara’s second-half tally last Saturday in Orlando helped the forward maintain a two-goal edge top the MLS goal-scoring leaderboard. Kamara’s 10 tallies are two ahead of San Jose’s Chris Wondolowski, who has eight.
CREATING CHANCES
According to the League’s official statistician, Opta, Crew SC ranks second in the League in chances created per match (11.2) and is fourth in MLS in big chances created per match (1.1).
PASSING MACHINE AS A TEAM
As a team, Crew SC ranks second in Major League Soccer in passing accuracy, trailing only Orlando City SC. The Black & Gold also rank in the top three in passing accuracy in its own half (third), the opponent’s half (second) and in the final third (second). This weekend’s opponent, Montreal, ranks fifth in overall passing accuracy.
