Columbus Crew SC (5-6-6) will take the field at MAPFRE Stadium this July 4 weekend as its gets set to host the New York Red Bulls (6-5-5) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

First-year Red Bulls Head Coach Jesse Marsch has his team playing well lately, as New York sits in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 23 points. With 2014 Golden Boot-winner Bradley Wright-Phillips up top and an attack-minded midfield anchored by Sacha Kljestan, who has experience playing for the U.S. Men’s National Team, expect to see a fast-paced, high-pressure squad in the Red Bulls.

New York is 2-3-3 on the road this regular season and is looking to keep the momentum rolling after a 3-1 victory over New York City FC in the second-ever New York derby.

Saturday marks the Red Bulls’ second appearance in Columbus this season, as New York defeated Crew SC 2-1 on March 28, delivering the Black & Gold their first of only two home losses this season.

Aside from last week’s victory over NYCFC, the match in Columbus was the last time the Red Bulls came away with three points on the road this season. Historically, the Red Bulls have had mixed success in Columbus, playing to a 12-15-4 record against the Black & Gold.

The Red Bulls are tied for seventh in the league with 22 goals. They have fired off 233 shots, good enough for third in MLS, while averaging five shots on goal per game.

Wright-Phillips leads New York with six goals and four assists, while Kljestan possesses the ability to create space with his quick feet and isn’t afraid to make an attacking run. McCarty, having appeared in all 16 games this season, captains New York with a more defensive role, sitting in a holding midfielder position.

With such a high-pressure style, fouls don’t come at a premium. The Red Bulls have accumulated 28 yellow cards on 208 fouls committed this season, in addition to two red cards.

With Fireworks presented by EAS after the match, Saturday will be nothing but entertaining as both teams look to keep their respective momentum rolling. Crew SC is undefeated in six of its last seven home matches, while the Red Bulls come to town riding a three-match win streak across all competitions.
