Columbus Crew SC adds two members to team staff

Brauzer Crusse

Columbus Crew SC today announced two additions to the team staff: David Brauzer, Head Equipment Manager, and Zach Crusse, Director of Team Operations.


Brauzer is beginning his first season with the Black & Gold as their Head Equipment Manager after joining the club in January of 2016. In his current role, Brauzer is responsible for ordering, inventory and upkeep of all equipment items for the Crew SC First Team as well as properly outfitting the team for all training and game situations at home and on the road. Brauzer joined Crew SC after working as the Head Equipment Manager with D.C. United, a position he has held since the start of the 2008 Major League Soccer season. He started as an intern with the Black-and-Red in 2003 before becoming the club's Assistant Equipment Manager in 2005, working mainly with the reserve team and assisting the First Team ahead of his promotion to the lead role. With D.C. United, he was named the 2014 MLS Equipment Manager of the Year. A native of Woodbridge, Virginia, he holds a Bachelor’s degree from High Point University in Sports Management and Business Administration with a concentration in Economics.


Crusse (pronounced:Cruise) is entering his first season as the Director of Team Operations for Columbus Crew SC after joining the club in January of 2016. He comes to the Black & Gold after working for U.S. Soccer as its National Teams Coordinator for six years. In his current role, he oversees all of the team’s preseason training camps, team travel and scheduling. He also works closely with the technical staff and players in the day-to-day operation of the team. With U.S. Soccer, he worked across all levels, including the Under-15s, U-18s and U-20s. With the U-20s, he worked two cycles, including the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey and the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand. He also most recently worked with the U.S. Soccer Olympic Team at the 2015 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship. Born and raised in Worthington, Ohio, Crusse graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Business. Following graduation, he worked as an Assistant Director of Marketing in the Bobcats’ athletic department.
