Despite conceding a pair of header goals, Steve Clark kept Crew SC in the match with a few big stops and four total saves. He had help from an impressive Tyson Wahl who successfully made four tackles—the most on his team. The defender subbed on for Gaston Sauro in the 25th minute, after the Argentine left the field with an apparent injury. Wahl also contributed to one of Crew SC’s five blocks of Montreal’s 18 shots on the night.

Ignacio Piatti and Lucas Ontivero gave Columbus a tough time on the counterattack; but the Crew SC backline registered nine clearances, six of which came from Sauro and Wahl at three a piece. Mohammed Saeid was also a significant contributor on defense, leading Crew SC with nine recoveries.

The Swedish midfielder once again made his passes count, successfully completing 92.06 percent of them. The only Columbus player with more accurate passing Saturday was Wahl at 92.68 percent. As a team, Crew SC was 81 percent accurate with its 480 passes, keeping consistent with its average through five matches this season.
