After a 3-2 victory over New York City FC last weekend, Crew SC welcomes the Houston Dynamo to town on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. The Western Conference side is coming to Columbus looking to end a four-game winless streak, but MAPFRE Stadium has been an unwelcoming place for the Texans over the years. Here are three things to know about the visitors.

Troubles at MAPFRE Stadium

Since joining the League in 2005, Houston has had trouble getting results at MAPFRE Stadium. In 10 matches played in Columbus against the Black & Gold, the Dynamo are 1-5-4. They conceded 17 goals over that span. Houston’s last win at MAPFRE Stadium dates back to April 26, 2008. The last match between the two sides in Columbus on August 23, 2014 ended in a 3-0 Crew SC win.

Recent Skid

After opening 2016 with four points in two matches, including a 5-0 rout of FC Dallas, the Dynamo have only recorded one point in their last four matches. Owen Coyle’s side currently sits in 10th place in the Western Conference, but is only three points behind seventh-placed Portland. Houston is 0-2-0 on the road this year, including a 4-3 loss at the New York Red Bulls and a 1-0 defeat at the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Ashe & Kamara’s Houston History

Crew SC defender Corey Ashe and forward Kei Kamara have history with Houston. Ashe was drafted by the Dynamo (26th overall) in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft, and played eight full seasons for the Western Conference side. During his time in Houston, Ashe played over 14,000 minutes, racked up 18 assists, and won an MLS Cup. Kamara made 32 appearances for Houston in 2008 and 2009, scoring six goals and adding three assists.
