Black & Gold by the Numbers: Milestones for Crew SC

Crew SC drew 2-2 with the Chicago Fire Thursday night at Toyota Park. It was the third regular-season meeting between the two teams in 2016 and although Columbus’ postseason chances came to a close, several significant stats stood out. Let’s take a look at the meeting between Eastern Conference foes by the numbers…

2

Two goals for Adam Jahn â€” the Cali striker put the visitors ahead in the 13th minute on an impressive finish assisted by Justin Meram. He then leveled the score in the 80th with a whimsical strike set up by Corey Ashe to tally his first career brace.

Steve Clark also made two saves on the night.

3,4

Jahn’s goals were his third and fourth for Crew SC this season, adding to his season total of five. His first finish came with San Jose before Columbus acquired the forward in July.

Ashe’s assist to Jahn’s second goal on the night was also his third of the season.

11

Meram’s assist contributed to his team-leading total of 11 so far this season. His next best assist season was last year when he served five helpers. Thursday also marked the second match in a row he has contributed an assist.

100

Century milestones for Clark and Meram— Clark’s night between the posts marked his 100th consecutive MLS regular-season start in the League and for Crew SC. Meram reached 100 starts for Crew SC and in MLS as well. No. 9 recently hit 150 appearances for Columbus on September 28 vs. D.C. United.
