2019 (Columbus): Joe Bendik has made two regular-season appearance (two starts) in 2019. He made his 2019 regular-season debut in a road contest against the Philadelphia Union (March 23) and recorded his second start in a home contest against Los Angeles FC (May 11). Bendik has recorded seven saves for the Black & Gold. He did not make an appearance in the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Bendik, a veteran goalkeeper with experience at three clubs, has appeared in more than 100 games since joining the league in 2012. He held the starting role for Orlando City SC from 2016 through 2018 after three prior seasons with Toronto FC and one season with the Portland Timbers.
OUTSIDE MLS: Played two seasons with Norwegian club Sogndal straight out of college from 2010-11 before moving to MLS. He helped Sogndal gain promotion to the nation’s top flight.
COLLEGE: Played at Clemson University from 2006-09.

Bendik’s favorite movies are Stepbrothers and Frozen, which he likes to watch with his daughters. His favorite shows include Game of Thrones, Family Guy and Shameless. Bendik enjoys listening to all kinds of music. Growing up, he supporter Premier League side Liverpool and looked up to goalkeepers Peter Schmeichel, Edwin Van der Sar and Julio Cesar. Interestingly, Bendik played with Julio Cesar at Toronto FC in 2014. His favorite food is shrimp scampi. He speaks English.
