Crew SC re-signs goalkeeper Logan Ketterer

COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew SC today announced it has re-signed goalkeeper Logan Ketterer.

Ketterer spent 2017, his rookie season, with the Black & Gold after being drafted in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.

“Logan is a guy who does everything a coach asks him to do and he made a lot of progress in his first year in MLS,” said Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter. “We look forward to seeing his continued development in his second year as a professional.”

Ketterer signed with the Black & Gold on February 20, 2017 after being selected in the Fourth Round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft with the fifth pick (71st overall). Last year, he was named to the matchday roster on eight occasions during the MLS regular season. Prior to joining the Black & Gold, the 24-year-old played three seasons at Bradley University, making 51 appearances (50 starts).

The goalkeeper earned All-Missouri Valley Conference and MVC Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mentions during his senior season in 2016, a season that also saw him be named to the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team. The previous year, Ketterer was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-North/Central Region Second Team. The Wisconsin native also won the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic Defensive Most Valuable Player award in 2014, his first year as a starter for the Bradley University Braves.

Under Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter, the 2018 MLS Preseason begins on Wednesday, January 24, at SuperKick in Lewis Center, Ohio after entrance physicals and testing. From there, the club departs to Casa Grande, Arizona for its preseason camp on Friday, January 26. Crew SC is slated to remain in Arizona through February 6 before traveling to Honolulu, Hawaii to participate in the inaugural Pacific Rim Cup from February 6-11. Following the conclusion of the Pacific Rim Cup, the club travels to Charleston, South Carolina to participate in the 2018 Carolina Challenge Cup.
