Trapp's 35-yard game-winner wins MLS Goal of the Week honors

Wil Trapp is one-for-one this season.

Initially, it was the Columbus Crew SC midfielder’s first MLS goal at MAPFRE Stadium. Now add “first AT&T Goal of the Week.”

If you were exempt from the soccer universe last week, let us rejoice in the game-winning goal from the Gahanna, Ohio native.

Trapp earned 65 percent of the votes, followed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s 17 percent for his goal during the LA Galaxy’s 3-1 win over Philadelphia.

Minnesota United FC’s Darwin Quintero came in third (12 percent) with his solo effort against New England, followed by Toronto’s Sebastian Giovinco and Real Salt Lake’s Damir Kreilach at three percent each.

The Black & Gold are back in action on Saturday, July 28 as they get set to take on the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff before returning home on August 11 against the Houston Dynamo as part of Columbus Zoo Night.
