ZARDES STRIKES TWICE AGAINST FC CINCINNATI
Forward Gyasi Zardes scored twice in Saturday's 4-0 win over FC Cincinnati. Zardes's first goal came in the 30th minute, when he latched onto a through ball to make the score 2-0. The forward made it 3-0 in the 49th minute, this time putting away a cross from Lucas Zelarayan. With the brace, Zardes took his total for the 2020 MLS regular season to three goals, tied with Kevin Molino (Minnesota United FC) and Maximiliano Urruti (Montreal Impact) for first place in the 2020 MLS Golden Boot race. Since joining Crew SC ahead of the 2018 MLS season, Zardes has made 64 regular-season appearances (all starts) for the Black & Gold, scoring 35 goals and providing two assists.

Since the beginning of the 2018 MLS regular season, no American player has scored more goals in the League than forward Gyasi Zardes. The 28-year-old has tallied 35 goals in 64 regular-season appearances (all starts) for Crew SC, the fourth-most goals in MLS regular-season action over that same span. Since joining MLS in 2013, Zardes has made 195 regular-season appearances (180 starts), registering 69 goals and 19 assists.
MOKHTAR NETS HIS FIRST GOAL OF 2020 MLS SEASON
Midfielder Youness Mokhtar scored a goal and provided an assist in Saturday's match against FC Cincinnati. The midfielder’s assist – his first regular-season helper for the club - came in the 30th minute, when he played a through ball to Gyasi Zardes, who scored the Crew's second goal of the evening. Mokhtar’s goal - his first strike of the 2020 regular season - came in the 60th minute, when he combined with Hector Jimenez and Lucas Zelarayan to score Crew SC’s fourth goal of the night. In 2020, Mokhtar has made three regular-season appearances (two starts) while scoring one goal and providing one assist.
JIMENEZ MAKES FIRST START OF SEASON, RECORDS ASSIST
Midfielder Hector Jimenez made his first start of the 2020 MLS regular season in Saturday's contest against FC Cincinnati. Jimenez marked the occasion by registering his first assist of the 2020 MLS regular season, as he provided the pass on Youness Mokhtar’s 60th-minute goal. Since joining Crew SC ahead of the 2014 MLS season, Jimenez has made 126 regular-season appearances (77 starts), scoring two goals and providing 19 assists.
ROOM RECORDS SHUTOUT AGAINST FC CINCINNATI
Goalkeeper Eloy Room registered a shutout in Saturday's 4-0 victory against FC Cincinnati. Room made three saves on the night en route to keeping his second clean sheet of the 2020 MLS regular season, having also recorded a shutout in the season-opening 1-0 victory against New York City FC (March 1). Since joining Crew SC in 2019, Room has made 15 regular-season appearances (all starts), making 41 saves and registering three shutouts.
MENSAH COMPLETES 135 PASSES AGAINST FC CINCINNATI
Captain Jonathan Mensah completed 135 passes during Saturday's match against FC Cincinnati, the second-most in an MLS match since Opta began collecting passing data for MLS in 2010. In addition to his 135 completed passes, Mensah also registered 145 touches on the ball, made two interceptions, two clearances and won two aerial duels on the night. Mensah's 135 completed passes is second only the 158 passes Oriol Rossell recorded for Sporting Kansas City in a 2014 match against the Montreal Impact.
BERHALTER, MORRIS MAKE MLS & CREW SC REGULAR-SEASON DEBUT
Midfielders Sebastian Berhalter and Aidan Morris both made their MLS regular-season debut for the Black & Gold in Saturday's contest against FC Cincinnati. Both midfielders came into the match as substitutes in the second half of the contest, with Berhalter coming in for Artur in the 76th minute, while Morris came in for Darlington Nagbe in the 77th minute.
