COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew SC in conjunction with Major League Soccer today revealed the Club’s remaining schedule for the 2020 MLS regular season. After a pair of previously scheduled matches this week, Crew SC’s final stretch schedule from October 3 to November 8 is composed of nine matches, including four home clashes at MAPFRE Stadium. The Black & Gold are set to host FC Dallas (October 7), New York City FC (October 18), the Philadelphia Union (November 1) and Atlanta United (November 8).
For the four matches at MAPFRE Stadium, there will once again be an extremely limited number of tickets available, with season ticket members receiving first access to purchase tickets to the four (4) Phase Two matches via a pre-sale starting tomorrow, September 23 at 9:00 a.m. ET. Capacity at MAPFRE Stadium for all four matches is again scheduled to be significantly reduced and all individuals will be expected to follow guidelines outlined as part of the Club’s Responsible Restart Plan.
As previously announced, the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs will again consist of single-elimination matches hosted by the higher-seeded team and follow a straight bracket format through MLS Cup on December 12. In an expansion of the postseason for 2020, 18 clubs will compete in the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs. Eight teams from the 12-team Western Conference will qualify directly to Round 1. The top six seeds from the 14-team Eastern Conference will qualify directly to Round 1. Eastern Conference seeds 7-10 will each compete in a play-in match (No. 7 vs. No. 10, and No. 8 vs. No. 9) to determine the two additional Eastern Conference teams that will qualify for the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs Round 1.
The lower-seeded advancing team will face the Eastern Conference No. 1 seed in Round 1, while the higher-seeded advancing team will face the Eastern Conference No. 2 seed.The Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs schedule and broadcast details will be announced at a later date.
Eight of Crew SC’s matches announced today are set to be televised locally on FOX Sports Ohio and SportsTime Ohio, with a full schedule available below. In a nationally televised contest, ABC* will host penultimate weekend coverage for the first time in league history, when the network televises the Eastern Conference match-up of Columbus Crew SC vs. Philadelphia Union on Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m. ET, with Spanish-language coverage provided by ESPN Deportes.
Crew SC plays host to Minnesota United FC tomorrow, September 23 and then travels on the road for a match against Toronto FC on Sunday, September 27. For a schedule of Crew SC’s remaining 2020 MLS regular-season matches after this weekend, please see below:
