Career Summary

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

        <strong>2013:</strong> In his first season with the club and third year overall in the League, the Columbus native made 13 appearances for the Black &amp; Gold &ndash; including two starts in the midfield. Made his Crew debut and second career regular-season appearance in the match against D.C. United (April 27) as Konrad and former Crew Head Coach Robert &ndash; his father &ndash; became only the second father (coach)/son (player) tandems in the same season in MLS history joining Bob and Michael Bradley in the 2005 and 2005 seasons in New York. Earned his first career MLS start &ndash; at right midfield &ndash; against Portland (July 7) and also started in the international friendly against Wigan Athletic (July 13). Started at right midfield against New England (July 20). Returned to action against Toronto (August 17) as a part of a strand of four consecutive matches with an appearance from August 17-September 4. Made 12 appearances &ndash; nine of them starts &ndash; in 2013 MLS Reserve League play and scored three goals which was tied with Bernardo Anor for second on the team while also recording one assist. Made two starts in the central midfield in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against Dayton Dutch Lions (May 29) and in the Fourth Round at Chicago (June 13) where he scored the Crew&rsquo;s lone goal in the 2-1 loss.<br />

        <strong>2012</strong>: After returning from a season-ending surgery to correct a femoral condyle defect in his right knee, Warzycha made one appearance as a substitute for Sporting Kansas City. He made his MLS &ndash; and Sporting &ndash; debuts on June 16, 2012 after being subbed on in the late stages of a match against Toronto FC.<br />

        <strong>2011:</strong> Just into his first preseason as a professional with Sporting Kansas City, Warzycha was diagnosed with a femoral condyle defect in his right knee and was forced to miss 6-8 months after undergoing surgery.<br />

        <strong>COLLEGE EXPERIENCE</strong><br>

Played four years for the Ohio State University and recorded 13 goals and nine assists in 75 games from 2007-2010. As a freshman, he helped the Buckeyes to an appearance in the 2007 NCAA College Cup Final. Earned a Second Team All-Big Ten selection in 2009 and then led the Buckeyes in scoring with eight goals in his senior season, earning him First Team All-Big Ten honors.

YOUTH EXPERIENCE

The Dublin, Ohio native played at Jerome High School and was a First-Team All Ohio selection as a senior. He led the team to a district championship after being named Team MVP for a second time. Warzycha recorded 44 goals and 34 assists in three seasons at Jerome and was a two-time All-Ohio Capital Conference, including 2006 OCC Player of the Year honors. He also played club soccer for the Blast Football Club from 1998-2007

PERSONAL

Konrad is the son of Crew legend and former Head Coach Robert Warzycha. Konrad is the second son of an MLS player to play in the MLS, after Sporting Kansas City striker Teal Bunbury followed in the footsteps of former Kansas City forward Alex Bunbury. Konrad is only the second player in MLS history to play for his father, joining Michael Bradley, who played under his father, Bob, with the NY/NJ MetroStars. Warzycha has two younger siblings, brother Bartosz and sister Olivia.
