Crew Soccer Academy Profile - Chad Barson

Chad Barson

Chad Barson is a junior central defender for the reigning NCAA National Champion Akron Zips who hails from Lewis Center, Ohio. The Olentangy High School graduate has been an integral part of the Zips backline since his freshman season, when they set school and NCAA records for goals-against average (0.27) and shutouts (19) in a season. In his three year career, Barson has scored three goals and added two assists.

"Chad is a three-year starter at central defender and was named to the MAC First Team for the second straight season,” said Akron head coach Caleb Porter. “He has been one of our top defenders game-in and game-out and a big reason why our program has been so successful during the past several years."
