Major League Soccer’s 17th season will kick off on Saturday, March 10, 2012, and First Kick presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods will see all but one MLS club play in front of their home fans by the end of Week 3 of the 2012 regular season.
The Crew’s home opener has been scheduled for that third weekend, on Saturday, March 24, against an opponent and at a time yet to be determined. It will mark the fourth straight season that the Black & Gold will play its first home game on the fourth Saturday of March, and the first time since 2006 that it will be as late as Week 3.
Crew Holiday Packs, which include two tickets to First Kick 2012, are on sale now starting at only $75. The Holiday Packs also include two (2) tickets to any other 2012 regular-season home game (subject to availability) and two (2) Crew winter beanie hats.
The Houston Dynamo, which is slated to christen its sparkling new downtown soccer-specific stadium on May 12, will be the final team to play at home in 2012. The Montreal Impact’s first MLS home game will be played at Olympic Stadium on March 17, while its newly-renovated Stade Saputo is scheduled to open in June.
Times, opponents, and national broadcast information for these games will be included in the entire regular-season schedule, which will be announced upon its completion in the coming weeks.
