Crew in the News - Robert Warzycha

All was well in Crew camp Monday as the team snapped a five match winless streak with a win over FC Dallas propelled by Sebastian Miranda's headed wonder goal from 20 yards out.

The strike earned Miranda nominations for AT&T Goal of the Week and MLS Latin Player of the Week

The victory against Dallas was due in-part to the continued play of center back Josh Williams. TheCrew.com and FSOhio's Steve Sirk took a look at the Cleveland State product's unlikely path to MLS.

The next time you drive down I-71, you may see some new signage near Crew Stadium. The proposal to erect a 100-foot LED sign outside the stadium has been approved by the Columbus Graphics Commission. Now, the sign just needs to be approved by the Ohio Expositions Commission.

Buzzzzzzz..... TheCrew.com unveiled a new podcast featuring Brand Ambassador Frankie Hejduk, TV analyst Duncan Oughton, and TheCrew.com's Cody Sharrett entitled "The Morning Buzz with Frankie Hejduk." The first episode was recorded at Cafe Brioso in downtown Columbus.

Also premiering on TheCrew.com this week is Crew Corner presented by Marathon. In the inaugural episode Ashleigh Ignelzi chats with head coach Robert Warzycha and new midfielder Chris Birchall.

The Black & Gold will host either the Dayton Dutch Lions or Chicago Fire PDL to open its 2012 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup campaign. The match adds a further test to the Crew as they will play four matches in 10 days starting Saturday in San Jose.

Finally, Columbus midfielder Dilly Duka is finally healthy after battling a hamstring injury all season. Duka could see time against the Earthquakes.
