Moment of the Year nominee: First Kick 2012

The Black & Gold opened Crew Stadium for the 2012 season with a 2-0 victory against the Impact back on March 24th. Columbus overpowered a 10-man Montreal side after Jeb Brovsky's red card in the 19th minute. Milovan Mirosevic put the Crew on the scoreboard first, scoring his first goal for the Black & Gold with a 30th minute penalty kick drawn by Emilio Rentería. Fellow newcomer Olman Vargas put the nail in the coffin during the 65th minute, powerfully heading home a cross from Shaun Francis on the left flank to beat Impact 'keeper Donovan Ricketts for his first tally as a member of the Crew.

First Kick 2012 was a great start to the year at Crew Stadium, but is it your Moment of the Year. Stay tuned to for more nominees each Wednesday.
