Eastern Conference Roundup: May 28

The top five teams in the Eastern Conference remain unchanged after Week 13 of the 2013 MLS Season, however the Crew and New England Revolution have gained ground on the Philadelphia Union with results over the weekend.

Here is how the Eastern Conference looks after 13 Weeks.

1. New York Red Bulls - 25 pts. - Week 13: 1-1 Draw vs. Columbus Crew

The Red Bulls late-game magic continued with an unlikely stoppage-time equalizer from defender Jámison Olave against the Crew on Sunday. New York is unbeaten in its last seven matches as Mike Petke's side hosts Vancouver Whitecaps FC in Week 14.

2. Montreal Impact - 23 pts. - Week 13: 5-3 Win vs. Philadelphia Union

A first-half Marco Di Vaio hat-trick along with tallies from Andrew Wenger and rookie Blake Smith propelled the Impact over a strong Union side over the weekend at Stade Saputo. With only 11 matches played this season, Montreal has the highest points-per-game average at a clip of 2.09 points earned each match. The Impact will travel to Kansas City to face a tough Sporting side on Saturday night.

3. Sporting Kansas City - 22 pts. - Week 13: 1-1 Draw vs. Houston Dynamo

Kei Kamara scored his first goal since returning from a loan spell in the Barclays Premier League to help Sporting earn a point at home against the Dynamo. All eyes will be on Sporting Park Saturday night as Kansas City hosts the Montreal Impact.

4. Houston Dynamo - 21 pts. - Week 13: 1-1 Draw at Sporting Kansas City

Brad Davis supplied a goal as the Dynamo kicked off a stretch of three-straight road matches with a draw in Kansas City. However, things will be tougher for Head Coach Dominic Kinnear as his team travels to Columbus without Davis and Oscar Boniek Garcia who will represent the United States and Honduras, respectively, in friendlies and World Cup Qualifying.

5. Philadelphia Union - 18 pts. - Week 13: 5-3 Loss at Montreal Impact

Jack McInerney scored once again, but the Union's three goals against the Impact weren't enough as the home side tallied five times at Stade Saputo on Saturday afternoon. Philadelphia will look to rebound against a struggling Toronto FC side in Week 14.

6. Columbus Crew - 16 pts. - Week 13: 1-1 Draw at New York Red Bulls

The Crew continued its strong road form to pick up a point at Red Bull Arena, but a late Jámison Olave equalizer will leave the Black & Gold with a sour taste in their mouths. The Crew will attempt to win just its second home match of the season as it hosts the Dynamo Saturday night (7:30 p.m. ET / FOX Sports Ohio). TICKETS

7. New England Revolution - 16 pts. - Week 13: 2-0 Win vs. Toronto FC

Don't look now, but the Revolution have won back-to-back matches as New England's offensive output has started to match its defensive play (nine goals allowed this season) with Juan Agudelo in the fold. The Revs will be tested this week as they host the LA Galaxy at Gillette Stadium.

8. Chicago Fire - 8 pts. - Week 13: 1-1 Draw at Real Salt Lake

Not only did the Fire pick up a point at Real Salt Lake's fortress of Rio Tinto Stadium, but Frank Klopas' side also picked up Bakary Soumaré from the Philadelphia Union to solidify the defense and Mike Magee from the LA Galaxy to add punch to a stagnant offense. Things are looking up in the Windy City.

9. Toronto FC - 7 pts. - Week 13: 2-0 Loss at New England Revolution

Visiting New England, Toronto lost its fifth-straight match as the Reds remain winless since March 9. Things won't get any easier as they host the Philadelphia Union on Saturday.

10. D.C. United - 5 pts. - Week 13: 2-0 Loss vs. Portland Timbers FC

Things continue to look bleak for the Black-and-Red as their winless streak was extended to 10 matches with a home loss to Portland. United travels to Chicago on Sunday.
