Black & Gold Bullets: October 11, 2013

Brian Bliss

A bye week provides a little extra time for conversation. Adam Jardy from The Columbus Dispatch decided to use the opportunity to get to know Crew Interim Head Coach Brian Bliss a little better. See what Jardy asked Bliss about in five questions, including his coaching idols, the best concert he's been to and a potential last supper.

As it has a history of doing, the Crew became part of a groundbreaking announcement for Major League Soccer as the first club to pair with interactive sports agency Sportsdigita to oversee season ticket renewals. Michael Long from Sports Pro Media analyzed what this innovation means for the club and its fans.

The Crew may not be playing in Crew Stadium this week, but that does not mean the venue is empty. The stadium hosted the 2013 Girls and Boys Columbus City League Soccer Championships last night, giving high school players an opportunity to face-off in a topflight venue. Evan Debo from TheCrew.com talked to Crew Stadium General Manager Ryan Smith about what the event meant to City League players.

Lastly, it's never too early for some offseason player transaction speculation. With a full roster, no signings are imminent for the Black & Gold, but that hasn't stopped reports coming out of Central America about a Costa Rican fullback. Here's Adam Jardy's take at The Dispatch, while Andrew King also weighs in over at MLSsoccer.com.
