Black & Gold Bullets: October 22

Black & Gold Bullets

Ahead of this weekend’s upcoming clash with New England, the Black & Gold will be taking part in FANdemonium events all week long across the Greater Columbus Area. From Crew school takeovers with legend Frankie Hejduk to OhioHealth Crew Action team’s Campus Takeover at The Ohio State University, FANdemonium week is alive and well leading up to Sunday’s rematch with the Revolution. For the complete schedule of this week’s events check out TheCrew.com for more information.

While the result on the scoreboard was not what Columbus had envisioned last week in Foxborough, the Black & Gold turned in an incredible effort in the second half of the contest to put the pressure on the Revolution. In particular, impressive performances by forward Dominic Oduro and second half substitution Aaron Schoenfeld were worthy of national, weekly award honors as Oduro is up for MLS’s Top 3 Performers of the Week and Schoenfeld is in contention for AT&T Goal of the Week honors for week 34.

Today, members of the Orange County Board of Commissioners will vote to decide on the future of professional soccer in Orlando. The issue they will be voting on is whether or not Orlando City will receive the Tourist Development Tax – the final step in the prospective team’s journey to receive funding for a soccer-specific-stadium. Mike Gramajo of Soccer By Iveshas the full story on Orlando City’s quest to become MLS’s 21st expansion team.
