Black & Gold Bullets: October 25

Crew Interim Head Coach Brian Bliss has insisted that the team will put its best foot forward when it steps out on the field to take on the New England Revolution on Sunday, despite the fact that the Black & Gold have been eliminated from MLS Cup Playoffs contention. Just who will be in the lineup has been subject to speculation, a topic which Adam Jardy of the Columbus Dispatch discussed in his latest blog post.

The Crew has been in the middle of some wild endings to the MLS regular season in years' past. With the ability to affect who gets in the MLS Cup Playoffs and who stays home, Sunday's match against New England has potential to join that list. Take a walk down memory lane with's Nicholas Rosano, who includes the Black & Gold's 2004 Supporters Shield-clinching victory in his "Three For Thursday."

Sunday's regular-season finale against New England is not the last high-level soccer match at Crew Stadium this fall. With the U.S. Women's National Team coming for a friendly against New Zealand on Wednesday, soccer fans in Central Ohio have plenty to be excited about. In the buildup to the USWNT's arrival, take a look at this piece by Jeff Kasouf of Pro Soccer Talk, who analyzes the team's extensive offensive firepower.
