Thanks to Indy Eleven's 5-2 victory over the Dayton Dutch Lions on Wednesday night, the Crew's opponent in the Fourth Round of the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup has been finalized. Columbus is set to face Indy on Tuesday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m. as MLS clubs enter the competition. The match is scheduled to take place at FirstEnergy Stadium on the campus of the University of Akron.
Ticket pricing and availability for the match as well as parking are set to be announced at a later date in the near future.
In Wednesday night's match, Montreal Impact loanee Blake Smith notched a hat trick in the win for Indy Eleven, which also boasts former Philadelphia Union Designated Player and FIFA World Cup champion Kleberson. The expansion NASL side debuted in 2014.
Aaron Schoenfeld continued his scoring streak, notching Dayton's first goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 66th minute. Fellow Crew loanee Matt Walker also scored for the Dutch Lions; the tally was his first professional goal in any competition.
