Columbus Crew 2014 MLS Cup Playoff ticket packages go on sale tomorrow, October 14

MLS Cup Playoffs 2014

The Columbus Crew today announced that tickets for potential 2014 MLS Cup Playoff matches at Crew Stadium go on sale to the general public tomorrow, October 14 at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Crew Season Ticket Members have the option of purchasing a 3-match plan at the same rate per-match as the regular season with the flexibility of only being charged for matches once they are guaranteed to be played. As the excitement of the postseason increases, the three matches include an Eastern Conference Knockout Round match, featuring a one-game tilt between the fourth and fifth seeds; a home leg of an Eastern Conference Semifinal battle; and the home clash of the Eastern Conference Final, should the Black & Gold advance.

The same 3-match plan is available to the general public starting at $23 per match. Single-match tickets for a potential Eastern Conference Knockout Round or Semifinal match begin at $25. Group tickets for 20 or more start at $19.

Single-match MLS Cup Playoff tickets can be purchased by calling 614-447-CREW, and online via TheCrew.com and Ticketmaster.com. Three-match plans are only available by calling 614-447-CREW and through TheCrew.com. In the event the Crew does not qualify for any or all of the 2014 MLS Cup Playoff matches, fans would be fully refunded for any unused Crew Stadium postseason tickets purchased.

With two regular-season clashes remaining in the campaign, the Black & Gold currently sit in fifth place in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference in which the top five clubs in the standings reach the postseason. Under new Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter, the club has amassed a record of 8-4-4 at Crew Stadium and presently possesses a vital five-match home winning streak. During the last five home matches, the Black & Gold have out-scored their opponents, 13-1, and have kept visitors scoreless in four straight contests.

The winner of the Eastern Conference Knockout Round faces the top seed in the Conference Semifinals in a two-match aggregate clash, with the winners battling the victors of the second and third seed Semifinal match-up. The two remaining seeds are set to battle in another two-match set-up for the Eastern Conference Final with an opportunity to play for MLS Cup 2014 on the line.

In his first season at the helm, Berhalter’s side is looking to secure its first postseason berth since 2011.  Overall, the club has reached the MLS Cup Playoffs 11 times, including the first four years of play (1996-1999) and seven times since 2000, including an MLS Cup title in 2008.
