CSA in the NCAAs: Third Round recap

Michigan State

Crew Soccer Academy alumni could be found on four of the remaining teams entering the Third Round of the Men's NCAA Soccer Tournament, with matches being played on Sunday, November 30. Following the matches, two squads with Black & Gold representation remain: Georgetown and Michigan State. The Quarterfinal matches are slated to be played on December 5 and 6.


Georgetown

The eighth-seeded Hoyas defeated the ninth-seeded Orange of Syracuse in overtime by a 2-1 final. David Witkoff played four minutes in a substitute's appearance. The Hoyas next play Virginia in the Quarterfinals.


Michigan State

The Spartans, seeded third, beat Washington on penalties by a 4-3 count (2-2 in regulation) to advance to the Quarterfinals. Jimmy Fiscus and Ken Krolicki each made appearances in the match.


Notre Dame

Notre Dame was upset by Virginia in the Third Round, with Connor Klekota playing 90 minutes in the match.


Xavier

The Muskeeters were also ousted in the Third Round, falling to Creighton by a 2-1 final. Eric Osswald, Will Walker, Rhodes Moore and Matt Hill again all started for Xavier.
