Black & Gold by the Numbers: Kamara ties McBride

It was the Kei Kamara show at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday night. With his brace the Crew SC striker led the Black & Gold to their second away win of the season and reclaimed the lead in the race towards the MLS Golden Boot. In addition to Kamara, other Crew SC players made notable contributions to the 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids, as well. Here, we break them down by the numbers.

Kei Kamara scored two goals against the Colorado Rapids, his fifth brace of the 2015 Major League Soccer regular season and his second on the road, following a two-goal performance on April 8 at Vancouver. With the brace Kamara re-took the MLS goal-scoring lead with his 16th and 17th tallies of the campaign, edging Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco by one. With his 17 goals, the Sierra Leone international is now tied with Brian McBride for third place on the club's single-season goal-scoring record books. McBride scored his 17 goals during the 1996 season.

11

Tony Tchani provided the assist on Kamara's first goal. The helper was his second of the season and his 11th in Black & Gold. The Cameroonian notched a career-best six assists last season.

4

Hector Jimenez registered the game-winning assist by setting up Kamara's second goal. It was the fourth assist of the season for Jimenez and his second game-winning helper, following his assist on May 9 vs. Seattle. This is the first time Jimenez has notched more than one game-winning assist in a single season.

Chris Klute started at leftback and played the full 90 minutes in his return to Dick's Sporting Goods Park, where he played his first three MLS seasons ahead of being traded to Crew SC at the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.

Jack McInerney, acquired from the Montreal Impact earlier in the week, played in his first match for Crew SC. He made his Black & Gold debut by entering the match in second-half stoppage time.
