Cedrick Mabwati and the Demoratic Republic of the Congo defeated Nigeria, 2-0, in Thursday's international friendly held in Belgium. The Black & Gold midfielder recorded his 15th cap and started the match for the Leopards.
DR Congo took an early 1-0 lead through a sixth-minute goal from Dieumerci Mbokani. The Leopards extended their lead to 2-0 with 15 minutes to spare before halftime thanks to Michaël Nkololo.
The cap was Cedrick's second since joining Crew SC midway through the 2015 Major League Soccer season following his appearance in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against the Central African Republic on September 6.
DR Congo is set to be back in action on October 12th, when it will play another international friendly against Gabon. That match is also scheduled to be held in Belgium, at the Stade Charles Tondreau in Mons.
