Didn’t we just see these guys? That’s right, we did…last Sunday. And before that on September 19. And once earlier this season on May 2. Now, Crew SC could face D.C. United for a fourth time this year in the Eastern Conference Seminfinals on November 1 and 8. With D.C. beating the New England Revolution 2-1 Wednesday night, if Toronto FC defeats the Montreal Impact tonight, it would be Columbus versus United once again.
It’s safe to say Columbus knows United pretty well at this point. Since dropping their first meeting 2-0 in the nation’s capital, the Black & Gold have won both recent matches between the two MLS originals. Here's a look at the three previous encounters.
October 25: 5-0 Win

September 19: 2-1 Win
Just five weeks earlier, the conference rivals met at RFK Stadium. Crew SC earned its MLS season-best fourth straight road win with goals from its dynamic duo, Ethan Finlay and Kei Kamara. Here are the highlights from that hard-fought victory:

May 2: 2-0 Loss
In the clubs’ first meeting this season, D.C. snagged three points with a 2-0 home win. Chris Rolfe scored early on a counterattack, followed by Sean Franklin’s back-post goal from a United corner kick. You can watch those goals here (if you really want to):
