Crew SC is headed to Canada to for the first of three meetings with Toronto FC this season, kicking off the ninth edition of the Trillium Cup. Catch up on the Eastern Conference opponents before Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.

CREW SC PLAYS FIRST LEG OF 2016 TRILLIUM CUP SERIES AT RENOVATED BMO FIELD
On Saturday, May 21, Columbus Crew SC plays its 11th 2016 MLS regular season contest and its sixth on the road by visiting renovated BMO Field for the first time. This match begins the ninth edition of the Trillium Cup rivalry series between Crew SC and Toronto FC.

LAST REGULAR-SEASON MEETING
On October 17, 2015, Crew SC officially clinched a berth in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs with a 2-0 win over the Reds at BMO Field.

HEINEKEN RIVALRY WEEK RETURNS WITH TRILLIUM CUP ON THE LINE
The match is the first leg of the Trillium Cup rivalry series in 2016 and is part of Major League Soccer's annual Heineken Rivalry Week, which returns for the third consecutive year. The Black & Gold have captured the Cup six times over the eight years it has been contested, including last season. Crew SC holds an all-time record of 12-5-8 against Toronto FC since the Reds' entry into MLS ahead of the 2007 campaign. Other featured matches as part of Heineken Rivalry Week this weekend include Philadelphia Union - D.C. United, New York City FC - New York Red Bulls, Portland Timbers - Vancouver Whitecaps FC and LA Galaxy - San Jose Earthquakes.

CREW SC LEADS MLS IN COMPLETED PASSES, PASSES PER MATCH
According to the League’s official statistician, Opta, Columbus Crew SC currently leads the League in completed passes per match (401.8) and in passes attempted per match (489.1). The club also ranks second in MLS in overall passing accuracy (82.2%).

SAEID LEADS ALL OF MLS IN PASSING ACCURACY
Among players with at least 100 passes attempted, Crew SC midfielder Mohammed Saeid leads all of MLS in passing accuracy (93.1%). Meanwhile, Wil Trapp ranks second in the League in successful passes per match, with 63. Finally, Federico Higuain ranks third in MLS in successful passes in the opposing half per game (32.1), followed by Tony Tchani in fifth and Wil Trapp in seventh.

CASEY, TCHANI TO FACE FORMER CLUB
Columbus Crew SC players Tony Tchani and Conor Casey are both set to face their former club this weekend in Toronto FC. Tchani played for the Reds in the 2011 season, making 13 appearances (all starts), scoring one goal, on April 23, 2011 against Columbus. Meanwhile, Casey made his MLS debut in 2007 with Toronto FC, appearing in two contests for the club. He made two substitute appearances for the Reds in what were their first two matches ever, on April 7, 2007 at Chivas USA and on April 14, 2007 at New England.

CLARK APPROACHING GRUENEBAUM
Goalkeeper Steve Clark's next start will mark his 79th all-time for Columbus Crew SC, a start that would move him into a tie with Andy Gruenebaum for third place all-time on Crew SC's career regular-season list in the category. William Hesmer is the Black & Gold's lifetime regular season leader in goalkeeper starts (130), followed by Jon Busch (83) and Gruenebaum.

The FOX-28 broadcast begins at 5:00 p.m. ET. Locally, the contest is available via the radio in English on CD102.5 FM and in Spanish on La Mega 103.1 FM. The English radio broadcast also is set to stream live on ColumbusCrewSC.com.
