The U.S. Soccer Development Academy held its annual End-of-Year Awards ceremony for the 2015-2016 season in Chicago on Wednesday evening. The awards presented included Player of the Year and Coach of the Year for the East, West and Central Conferences respectively. Along with these awards, ever year there is also a Starting XI selected for each age group and conference.
Among the many clubs present, Crew SC Academy had a very strong presence, with numerous players and coaches being recognized. Crew SC Academy Coach Lars Richter won Coach of the Year for the Central Conference.
Additionally, Crew SC Academy defender Griffin DeBolt was selected for the Starting XI roster for the Central Conference's 15/16 age group. Along with DeBolt, Crew SC Academy Wolve’s midfielder Suniel Veerakone was chosen for the Central Conference Under-17/18 Starting XI.
