Columbus Crew SC fell to Toronto FC 3-0 Sunday at BMO Field in the third and final leg of the 2016 Trillium Cup. Despite the result, there are a number of positives to take away from the match, so let’s take a closer look at the Black & Gold by the numbers.
Black & Gold goalkeeper Steve Clark made three saves in Sunday’s match, finishing the contest with exactly 300 regular-season stops in his MLS career. Clark becomes the third goalkeeper to hit that milestone in Black & Gold history, joining William Hesmer (412) and Jon Busch (367).
Two new Crew SC acquisitions, forward Adam Jahn and goalkeeper Zack Steffen, made their first matchday 18 appearances for the Black & Gold in Toronto. Jahn made his Club debut during the match, entering the game in the 74th minute as a substitute for Harrison Afful.
Columbus Crew SC registered a passing accuracy of 86 percent against the Reds on Sunday, continuing to be one of the top teams in the League in that category. This marks the fifth straight match that Gregg Berhalter’s club has reached at least 80 percent passing accuracy.
